O mankind! We created you from a single soul, male and female, and made you into nations and tribes, so that you may come to know one another. Truly, the most honored of you in God's sight is the greatest of you in piety. God is All-Knowing, All-Aware. (Quran, 49:13)
What is Islam
The Arabic word 'Islam' stands for 'Submission' or 'Peace'. In a religious context, it implies the peace that reaches out to one when one completely submits oneself to the will of Almighty God. This is achieved only when the individual acts in accordance with the direction of his Creator in all spheres of life.

The Qur'an to be the book of divine guidance and direction for mankind and consider the text in its original Arabic to be the literal word ofAllah revealed to Muhammad(SAAl) through the angel Gabriel over a period of twenty-three years and view the Qur'an as Allah's final revelation to humanity.

"A man asked the Prophet: 'Whom should I honour most?' The Prophet replied: 'Your mother'. 'And who comes next?' asked the man. The Prophet replied: 'Your mother'. 'And who comes next?' asked the man. The Prophet replied: 'Your mother!' 'And who comes next?' asked the man. The Prophet replied: 'Your father'"
A man once consulted the Prophet Muhammad about taking part in a military campaign. The Prophet asked the man if his mother was still living. When told that she was alive, the Prophet said: "(Then) stay with her, for Paradise is at her feet." (Al-Tirmidhi)
What is a Mother?
We all know that in Islam a Mother is to be respected and she should have the highest status in your life after our Lord Allah (swt) and our Prophet (saw).
Paradise lies beneath our mothers feet, but do we respect that paradise?
Do we respect and thank our Lord for giving us one of lifes most important things, without which we wouldnt be alive, if we didnt have a mother who would teach us the principles of life?
Ask those unfortunate ones who would be willing to do what not just to have a mother, ask them how painful it is to know that you dont have a mother to pat you to sleep, to sing you lullabys, to pick you up when you fall and to kiss your pain goodbye.
We all know that soon Mothers day is to come and who wouldnt know especially if you walk past Clinton Cards or some gift shop. Its impossible to miss.
But tell me truthfully are you the ideal son or daughter for your mother, do you just give her a card on mothers day or give her that love every day? Because, Ill let you on a secret, mothers day is EVERYDAY!
You should be there next to your mother helping her massaging her pain away everyday; you should care for her cook for her and listen to her everyday.
Do you know in Islam if your mother is angry with you till the very end you wont ever be able to say the Shahadah, It is only if your mother forgives you that those beautiful words will be able to pass your lips before you die.
Im sure youve heard the story of Alqamah, he was a man alive at the time of our Prophet (saw), he was a religious man, who always prayed five times a day and always obeyed Allahs words, but one day when he was lying on his deathbed he was unable to repeat the Shahadah, because he disobeyed his mother.
The Prophet (saw) said:
Bilal, go out and collect a quantity of firewood.
Alqamahs mother said, Messenger of Allah, what do you plan to do? He replied, I will burn him in front of your eyes.
Now which mother do you think will be able to see her son burn in front of her eyes, she said no dont I wont be able to see him in so much pain.
The Prophet (saw) said it is better he burn here in front of you rather then in the hellfire because Allah wont forgive him for disobeying you.
So she forgave him, and when Bilal entered the room where Alqamah was dying he heard him repeat the Shahadah and die.
What does that story teach you? R E S P E C T Y O U R M O T H E R
If your mother is angry with you right now I beg you please go to her and ask her for forgiveness, care for her, give her the happiest life ever because that is what she did for you.
Our Prophet (saw) says that I will curse three kinds of people, first those who dont take full advantage of the month of Ramadan, second those who dont say SALLALLAHU ALAYHI WA LAHI WA SALLAM after my name is mentioned and third those who dont take care of and respect their parents when they reach old age.
So go and take what I have said in account, and make your chances of reaching paradise increase, because everything we do in this life affects where we reach in the hereafter.

| The Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) Last Sermon |
|
This sermon was delivered on the Ninth Day of Dhul Hijjah 10 A.H . in the 'Uranah valley of Mount Arafat' (in Mecca).
After praising, and thanking Allah he said:
"O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and TAKE THESE WORDS TO THOSE WHO COULD NOT BE PRESENT HERE TODAY.
O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your LORD, and that HE will indeed reckon your deeds. ALLAH has forbidden you to take usury (interest), therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity. Allah has Judged that there shall be no interest and that all the interest due to Abbas ibn 'Abd'al Muttalib (Prophet's uncle) shall henceforth be waived...
Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.
O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under Allah's trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.
O People, listen to me in earnest, worship ALLAH, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford to.
All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves.
Remember, one day you will appear before ALLAH and answer your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.
O People, NO PROPHET OR APOSTLE WILL COME AFTER ME AND NO NEW FAITH WILL BE BORN. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the QURAN and my example, the SUNNAH and if you follow these you will never go astray.
All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness, O ALLAH, that I have conveyed your message to your people".
